For 1.85 I have:

live action: Juno, Closer, Mr Brooks, Rescue Dawn, Superbad, others Im forgetting.

animation: Final Fantasy, Meet the Robinsons, Surf's Up, others Im forgetting.

Meet the Robinsons is actually 1.78:1. Im not sure how many of the 1.85:1 might still present small black bars...

As for PQ, all of the animation is tops, as expected, and I think Mr Brooks looked most impressive, IMO. Rescue Dawn is actually more acclaimed for its PQ, but I just was particularly impressed with Mr Brooks PQ.

You know, I swear they were all full screen... but, Im just still not 100% sure, and was implying that evilkat make sure about any particular title he was interested in.

Yeah, thanks for the tips guys. Holy cow, buying a BD movie just got a whole lot more complicated! Whatever happened to going to a store and just buying a movie, without having to worry about anamorphism, aspect ratios, etc?? Aren't people confused enough with the different HD formats? :p

So does anamorphic/non-anamorphic still apply to BD?
No... The black bars above and below are actually pixels. (Of course, since it repeats, it doesn't take up any space due to compression.) AFAIK, Blu-Ray and HD DVD are all 16:9 on the disc.

Not exactly... I have Robin Hood on HD DVD and that is a 4:3 aspect (filmed in 1936). But it is very nice in stretched TV mode.

The Batman Begins BD is 2.35 or whatever cinemascope is. Definitely not 16:9.

Please read what I said... 16:9 in terms of pixels. The black bars actually take up pixels--they're not empty space like on SD SVD. Casablanca is 4:3. Mutiny on the Bounty and Battle of the Bulge are 2.76:1. I said they're not anamorphic like SD DVD's.
