Just happened to notice this today while listening to some music recorded in 2 channels. The bass is significantly fuller and overall louder in PLII Music 5.1 as opposed to a thinned bass response in PLIIz Height 7.1. For the most part, it seems that bass is generally toned down in almost all of the 7.1 options, perhaps with the exception of Audyssey DSX. Is this an intended difference between these listening modes?
Was hoping someone could shed some light on this, as I do prefer the soundstage of the additional height channels, but very much dislike the lack of bass. This now has me wondering if the same is true for movies when listening in Dolby 5.1 vs Dolby 7.1...although I haven't had a chance to thoroughly check for this difference in movies.
