Bass Management RX-V1500

This sounds like a good setup...similar to my RX-V2500 (tho' I cross over at 80 Hz, even with large floorstanders). One word to the wise, however...you don't really want to "hear" the subwoofer. Ideally, you'd like it to blend in with the rest of your system, giving the system a nice and deep extension, but NOT call attention to the sub.

YPAO works well for me in all regards EXCEPT speaker phase setting (which I ignore because I know it's wrong).

Once you get your system wired in, you'll thoroughly enjoy the sound.

Good cheer.
Its going to be quite a challenge to find a happy medium, since it produces the sound for a number of different devices: DVD's, Digital TV & Music, Playstation 2, CD's, Wireless iTunes music.

Since I watch mostly Digital TV, I've noticed over the weekend that the midtones are lacking. I'm not sure how to fix this but like I said earlier, I will have to do some reading.

Its not as straight forward as my other stereo, a 70's Marantz, hooked up to Bic America speakers in my gym room. Its easy to just adjust the treble, bass and mid controls to tune it in.

Yep...I encountered the same "WHAT THE....!??" when I upgraded out of my 80's Yamaha stereo rx. ;)

Fortunately the RX-V2500 remote and interface are excellent and I can make nearly instantaneous (source required) changes, mostly subwoofer settings, on the fly. But I've gotten to the point where I use two memory settings...one for music and one for DVD's. Works great.

Keep working with it, Flex. You'll have it dialed in to your liking just by playing around with it (which I have to do when the 'boss' is gone  )).

Good cheer.
