An update:
My neighbor and I made an agreement that I can play my music as loud as I'd like on Saturday afternoons. So far, it's working out. I also realized that my subwoofer only bothers him when I play electronic music. I can play Jazz, Folk, even Rock, pretty loud with the sub on without it being a problem. The deep, repetitive bass that is characteristic of electro is what drives him crazy.
Needless to say, Saturdays are my electro rock-out sessions. If I want to play electro at other times, I just turn off the sub (My Klipsch B-3s have enough bass to tide me over).
For those of you who said the Subdude wouldn't make a difference, you were absolutely right. We did a test and there was no difference in noise control. It did tighten up the bass in my room though, so it wasn't a waste of money (my sub was previously on a hardwood floor).
Finally, for those of you still following, I have one more question. I'm thinking about purchasing an Auralex C24 ProPanel to put behind the B-3s. This wouldn't be for noise control obviously, but there's a slight mid to low frequency echo when I'm sitting close to the speakers. (Could this be because they are 1 foot away from the wall, when the intructions say keep them at least 2 feet away?)
Has anyone tried these Auralex ProPanels? My only purpose is for music listening. I won't be doing any mixing or recording. Is the ProPanel going overboard for my purposes, or will it significantly improve my listening experience?
