basic wiring tips with projector, audio/video receiver, etc...

Greetings folks,

I am in need of some basic wiring advice. I recently acquired a screenplay 4800 projector by infocus. There will be a about a 14 foot space between the projector and the screen (mounted on opposite sides of the room).

Here is my equipment list:

Pioneer elite VSX-24TX
Samsung DVD player
Sony VCR
Dish network receiver
Uniden big-dish receiver

OK. I would like the equipment on the screen side of the room, instead of on the projector side (behind me when looking at the screen), that way I can point the remote towards the "screen" like a normal person.

What cabling can I run at sufficient length at still get a great picture? The projector supports S-video, composite, and component. The only item that uses component on my list is the DVD player. Everything else is s-video or composite.

Anyway, everything but the DVD player will be hooked up to the Pioneer receiver for video switching, which only uses S-video for video connections. That way I can run a single S-video cable from the Pioneer to the projector (about 20 ft).

I don't know how far I can run component cables before the signal degrades (or the price gets out of my budget). It needs to be about a 20-22 ft run when it is all said and done.

Any advice would be appreciated, or links that tell how to.

This is kind of a hodge-podge, and not the best for the setup, but I am working with what I have.

This might help

What you will want to do is run the s-video to the projector and a componenet video run from the DVD to the projector and you should be fine, 20-30 ft is fine, if you discover that the signal is poor you can amplify the signal. Just make sure you get the cables a little longer than you think you need, you never know when you might need to move equipment around.
