Basic vs. Expensive RCA Cables

Hi, I was wondering if I'm really compromising audio quality by using basic (cheap and thin) GE RCA cables to output stereo sound from my tv to my receiver oppose to the fancy looking Acoustic Research and Monster RCA cables. What about subwoofer cable? I'm just using 8 dollar GE RCA cord for my LFE output. Any input (no pun intended) would be appreciated.

You're not comprimising audio quality, but the lack of shielding on those connections could lead to interference and noise.
