My room is about 3.2x3.4mtrs.

I think these Yamaha's would cost approx $2000 on the street......do you consider Yamaha to be a decent brand..?

The poster isn't talking about the specs, I believe it is the Yamaha speakers that are getting the thumbs down.

Yes, for $2K (about $1700 US?) you could do better than Yamaha speakers.

Does PSB/PARADIGM/Pinnacle Micro have retailers in Australia? Any one know of any other manufacturer that has distribution channels setup down under?

The AVR is probaly fine; the speakers and sub would get a thumbs down, you can do a lot better.

Not to worry, I haven't even bought my TV yet.
But I'll be sure to audition as many set ups as I can.
