Is there such a thing and why dont they make them if not? I just brought a new Pioneer receiver. I got a set of wireless speakers for it. They gave me Y audio jacks with the speakers. But the speaker jacks in the back of the receiver only take speaker wires or bannana plugs. So I had to take off the the Y audio plugs and add a female connecter plug to the plug for the transmitter for the speakers and plug it in the front of the receiver to the headphone jacks. I dont really like to plug things into the front of my receiver permentaly. I went to several stores that came to the conclusion I would have to splice the wires on the end of the y audio plugs that came with it and add on the bannana plugs. Is this really necessary or is there somewhere I can buy these things alreadly made that way? If not, I wonder why they havent done this alreadly.

Ok, I'm a little confused. The wireless speakers came with Y audio jacks? You mean RCA connectors for the speaker signal transmitter?

The wireless transmitter needs to be connected to the pre-out outputs on the back of your reciever which should be RCA connectors. The audio signal is amplified at the wireless speakers so that's why you wouldn't plug them into the speaker outputs on the rear. If you're using them for rear surround you should connect them into the rear left and right pre-out connectors. What model of receiver do you have?

Banana plugs/speaker out terminals on the back of your A/V receiver are high-powered outputs! The output from the receiver is carrying a hefty power load that runs the speakers at the other end of those wires.

The reason you got a dinky little splitter or connector, is that you only need line level connections from the receiver to the wireless speakers. You most definitely do NOT want to hook your speaker terminals up to the wireless transmitter as it will possibly damage both the transmitter and the A/V receiver.

You want to use the line level audio outputs or headphone outputs of your A/V receiver. More likely, the system has been dumbed down, so it is expected that you will just hook your CD player or cable box line level outputs (RCA type) directly to the wireless transmitter so you can enjoy audio wherever you take the speakers.

Wireless speakers, in my opinion, are a very bad option because you still must power them which requires a power cord or batteries and I can't imagine they would be immune from interference.

Yes, they are RCA Connectors for the speaker signal transmitter.

Then they need to be hooked up to line level outputs, not speaker level outputs. If your receiver has preamp outs or a tape out, those will work. Those will be female RCA jacks and you won't need any adapters.

Don't hook those RCA plugs up to speaker outlets or something expensive will start smoking.
