Spotted a pair in decent shape at a local thrift shop - How much are they actually worth/how much should I be looking to pay? Look to be in decent shape, Havent checked the mid-ranges - Worst/best scenereo would be appreciated.

I don't have any great words of wisdom on these, but I did look tonight and saw a pair of Penta 3's on eBay for $1600, and another pair on eBay for $2000. That might give an upper bound for you on the Penta 1's.

I had the pleasure of listening to a pair of those back in the early 90's. I don't know which version they were, but I thought that they were excellent. The owner had them cranked, and I could put my ear right up to them without any discomfort at all - the distortion was very low.

Worst case scenario;
looks like all the parts are readily available on Ebay.
How much are the speakers? The III's are going for $1600.

That is awesome. Good find.

Both work and sound great - In pretty good condition for being over 20 - removed the grills (pain) and all the mids are still in-tact (no holes, a few cracks) but have foam rot - Everything else is in good shape. I'll post some pics tomorrow morning
