Balanced, unbalanced? No sound from sub...why?

Afternoon all, can someone please tell me why or simply how I can resolve my sub problem. I think I have an idea of what it may be (quite simply I many need a balanced sub cable) however I'm not entirely confident on how or what to fix. Running the Emotiva umc-200 pre/pro through Adcom amp. Separates is a new realm for me as is dealing with 'balanced and unbalanced' sub outputs. The Emotiva has one balanced sub out (3 prong) as well as a unbalanced sub out (typical coaxial connection I'm familiar with) as part of its 7.1 channel main outputs. My sub is Polk PSW125. The single sub cable from the pre/pro to the sub is not producing lfe. Why and what's next? Appreciate any feedback.

Is this brand new or did it work before?

Did you go through all of your set up procedures?
first thing I would do it make sure you are in a surround mode, sometimes my kids will sit on the remote and put my 200 into an all stereo mode or direct mode and the sub will cut out...

It kind of seems to me that it was a new system.

Did you do the auto-setup procedure? Is the SW output set to "on" for the menus of the processor?

the 200 is tricky when plugging it in, I have seen others plug the sw into the fl channel since its all the way to the rite, and looks like it says sw from the xlr input when the sub is really in the center the first red one I believe...

Also you will need a splitter for that sub, for some reason when you use one rca to the subwoofer it isn't as loud as when you use a splitter... Im sure this is somehting silly, and an easy fix...

I didn't see what sub he has?

But yeah, my velodyne 10" has the L/R inputs and the manual clearly recommends to use both (even if you have to split a single channel), but it will work off single line in (but not as much gain).

Thanks everyone...I believe it was part set up and part requirement of a splitter. I will attempt again.
