Back for more subwoofer advice

I got great information on home theater components here in the fall, so I'm back for more! I was coached to buy Behrenger B2030Ps. I have a pair now and have thrown out all of my crappy 1980s thrift store Fisher speakers. I'm happy with the Behrengers, other than the small issues that have been noted by others in the past. Basically, I have not gotten around to applying any of the fixes that are needed. I'll get around to it. I also will buy a couple more pairs eventually.

Anyways, on to my question for the forum at large: Which subwoofer should I get? I've figured out the dimensions of the space that this home theater system will be residing in for at least a few years and I'm wondering what subwoofer I should plan to get. The space is typical of an apartment. It is a living room that is open to the kitchen and a tiny hallway. All of the open space combined comes in at around 3,000 cubic feet.

From reading the forum and getting advice previously, I can think of three options. First, I could buy the SVS pb12 now (well, I'll probably be able to afford it by mid-winter). Or I could buy a pb10 now (maybe early winter on that one) and then someday when I move to a larger space I'd buy a second one and have two sub channels. OR I could buy this right now, sell it in a few years when I move, and buy the pb12:

Basically, are the pb10 or ps-1000 adequate to fill a 3,000 cubic foot space? If so, is it really worth the extra 200 bucks for the pb10 over the used ps-1000? I will be living on the bottom floor of an apartment building filled with old ladies so I can't shake the walls, but I'd like a full, rich sound.

Thanks in advance, as always!

I think this depends on your goals. But I don't believe in buying a pb10 unless your goal is primarily musical. For those wanting a cheap sub fix until they can afford a monster. Pick up a used Dayton 12". Then save your cash until you can get a better 12". The Dayton will easily fill an apartment with bass. Mines a 10" and I can feel chest pumping bass in some movies.

The depreciation(big word I know) is just easier to deal with on the Dayton in terms of resale and saving toward a really nice sub.
