B&W HTM61 or B&W HTM62?

Hi Guys

I am in progress of upgrading my whole system

Last month I bought “B&W 685” fronts. Center is next on my list, hopefully the end of next month

I’ve trying to decide between “B&W HTM61” & “B&W HTM62”

Has anyone tried any of these centres with the “B&W 685” ?

Can anyone advice if the "B&W HTM61" will be overkill for my fronts "B&W 685"

Hi Jay C,

I do have that exact combo also and it sounds owesome to my ears
IMO, the HTM-61 is a hell of a CC, even though some readings says otherwise.

The only 600 series speaker I have heard was the 684's and that was quite awhile ago so I don't have the experience you are looking for but looking at the B&W website they seem to recommend the HTM62 for the 686's and the HTM61 for the tower speakers leaving the 685's in the middle although on the 685 page it has the HTM61 as a related product.

Looking at the specs online, I would get the HTM61 unless it wouldn't fit and I needed the smaller physical size of the HTM62, but like I said, I don't have much experience with B&W.

Yes, I used it. I had 683 mains and had the HTM61 as my center, but I have now sold the 683's and am selling the HTM61.

They fit very well together, but I think B&W should have lowered the price on a new HTM61, which is currently at $650, only $100 less than just getting another 683. But, it performed great just as expected.
