How did they sound to you? That's all that matters.

They sucked but the young kid that gave me a demo didn't know what he was doing, "I hope" and I certainly don't. They were driven by a Rotel 1057. It seems that they should have sounded better then they did. I'll have to go back when the owners there. Anyway I though this forum was for getting feedback and thoughts on audio products? I was looking for an answer not a question. Is there anyone out there that has any interest in these speakers besides me?

lol...sorry you sound pissed at me.

A flat panel just will not sound as good as a real speaker especially if you are not crossing them over to a sub. B&W makes great speakers and are a very good company.

Chill 2string Greg was trying to help. You will not find this forum one where people are going to tell you what to buy. You have to remember that there are many speaker companies out there and most of us have only owned a few different compainies that we know and will comment on. We all try and respect each others opinions as to what each individual likes/dislikes.

Now reading your post you did not like this speaker so if you want to go out and listen again that is great and I hope your next experience is better. Tell us a bit more about the room you are putting them in and why you are looking at that model. Is that an on-wall? B & W makes well regarded speakers but not all their models are great or well known.

The flat panel can be wall mounted or stand mounted. I will wall mount them on each side of my TV. They have in them 2 (4 in) Kevlar cone bass/midrange drivers and Nautilus tube-loaded tweeter. I would get the same for a center.

The B&Ws I am familiar with are the 602s and 705s. The 602s are excellent and I highly recommend them. The 705s are good, but not enough better than the 602s to justify the price difference IMO.
In other words, B&W makes some great speakers, but only you can decide if a particular model is worth the price to you.

Yep I know cabs sound better but I'm ready for some wall hangers. I've owned 600 and 800 series B+W's and that why I think these FPM4's should have sounded better then they did. I'll be going back for another listen.
