B&W CC6 Tweeter Issues... Problem?

I bought a B&W CC6 center channel speaker. The tweeter cap was dented. I removed the tweeter and the cap and tried to bend it back into place. Will this change the sound performance? I tried to capture the crinkles in the pictures below. Any comments are welcome.

You have removed the tweeter diaphragm and voice coil. How much ferro fluid did you loose from the pole gap? I suspect you will have to replace some ferro fluid. The next issue is that the voice coil former may now be distorted and the voice coil may now touch the gap and cause severe problems.

If there is gap rub you will need a new diaphragm and voice coil at least. If B & W do not supply the parts you will need to purchase a new tweeter from them.

or just buy a new matching center. That CC6 is old and sounds muffled, anyway.

What would be a "new matching center?" I didn't know what I was doing. The voice coil / diaphragm just sort of fell off. I figured I was screwed when I saw the leads on the diaphragm. I think it was damaged anyway. Damn I knew I shouldn't have bought this thing.

Awesome news. We HAD a B&W dealer here but they stopped in the last 3 months. Is the tweeter I have repairable or am I SOL?

It is repairable only of B & W can supply the parts. You need to Email them for advice.

If parts and or a new tweeter are not available, you are out of luck.

That center channel was produced mid nineties, so you may well have a parts problem. An Email to B & W will let you know where you stand. Those speakers only fetch $350 tops on the used market, and B & W are high with their parts so you have to be careful here.
