AVR-4306 + DVD-3910 - D-Link and HDMI OK?

Dear all,

I am trying to set up my brand new HT system, based on Denon's 4306 and 3910.

I have connected them with D-Link for the sound, and have currently connected directly the DVD-3910 with the projector using a HDMI cable, which works fine.

However, I am considering using the AVR as a hub that would enable me to connect other inputs to the projector as well (TV tuner, X-Box,...).

My question is: can I use simultaneously between the AVR and DVD the D-Link connection for the sound (including SACD) and the HDMI connection for video? I do currently only own one HDMI cable and wouldn't want to buy a second one if there is no use.

Thank you in advance,

Regards,
Bernard

Dear all,

I have tried some more, and it seems to be impossible to use simultaneously the D-Link connection for the sound, and the HDMI for the image.

It looks like I will have to use 2 different banks of settings.

1. for SACD based on D-Link,
2. for DVD based on HDMI.

I am a little bit surprised by this limitation, but it isn't too bad.

Regards,
Bernard

Are you assigning the inputs correctly? As long as you don't have the HDMI audio assigned as priority then Denon Link should work for audio. Go into the main setup menu, Video Setup, HDMI In Assignment. Assign the Input you want e.g DVD - HDMI1 and set the Audio option to TV. You'll then have to go and assign the Denon Link again because as soon as you select HDMI it defaults the audio to HDMI on that input as well. To re-assign Denon Link go to Audio Input Setup, Digital In Assign then select DLINK for the DVD Input. It should work then.

Thanks a lot Jase, I'll try that.
