AVR 3805 set-up problem

I've been trying to get my AVR 3805 programmed, but I can't get the on-screen programming to work for some reason. I also can't get it to recognize my DVD component input. I have my replay TV into one component input, and it is working fine. I've changed cables, and tested each component input to make sure it works, and they do, with the replay TV. How can this not be working?

HELP!!

Cutter-

Have you gone into the System Setup menu and configured all of your inputs and connections (video input, component assign, etc). This may be the problem. Make sure you have the different sources appropriately connected and make sure you tell the 3805 how you have them setup (in the menus). I can understand why you might be having problems if you're not using the on-screen display...that really makes it easier!

I have heard that on-screen display doesn't work well sometimes, when using a component hookup. Try an s-video or composite hookup from receiver to tv, long enough to use the OSD for setup, then switch it back to component....

Thanks for the help! turns out my Samsung DLP TV component input wouldn't work-- I had to change it to the DVD 480i/p in order to see the onscreen display, and my DVD movies. This doesn't make sense to me, but it works!
