I and my wife occasionally play it over the weekends when we have some time for 2 ~3 hrs as both of us are working professionals and we travel a lot.. Just a few weeks before, the receiver suddenly stopped working. Permanently in stand by mode (amber light is on). It is not the protective mode... PERMANENT STAND BY condition.... I removed all the speaker connection and tried to switch on.. still same.. I took it to HK's authorized service center for repairing.. what I was told that the front Input board is spoiled due to wear and tear..WEAR & TEAR ???.. .. We might have hardly used it for 200hrs.. Anyway I got a quote that it'll cost me $300 to repair.. I feel like being conned.. .. Harman Kardon's quality sucks.. Some of my friends were interested to got for it; but after my experience they're not very keen to bet on HK brand.. I'm thinking whether I should repair it or switch to a new one (of course other brand).. Sush. Last edited: Mar 4, 2011
