K, my origional plan was to go with 5 X-CS speakers from AV123, but it turns out they are backordered all the way to mid october and will ship on a date after the 15th, which for me is totally unacceptable

So..with that said i'm back on the market looking for speakers to fit my 5.1 setup, here's what i'm working with:

My room is a 26X20 room with a Projector based on the far end of the room, it has Cathedral ceilings at 10 feet high at the peak

My amp is the Yamaha RXV661 @ 90W/Channel:

Now..at 1000$ TAXES IN, what are my options/what would you recomend?

i need somthing that will ship once i order, have the speakers in stock, and are a decent company to deal with

Suggestions?

Off topic.

Is av123 always backordered? I mean seriously.

I think it keeps their fans all jazzed up and excited. Perhaps it's not that they can't make enough things, they just choose to make too few. The suspense is part of their master plan.

The only guy I know who has experience with Elemental Design is Craigsub. You might want to ask him.

I so agree with this.

These are a 6 ohm speaker. Might be to much load on your receiver. Might cause your receiver to run hot or go into protection mode.
Hey mazersteven, I don't think he has to worry about the yammy driving 6 ohm loads. I own a lowly technics receiver rated optimistcally at 100wx5 and it is driving my PSB speakers which are all rated at 6ohms with out any difficulty. My receiver always ran hot, even beforte I replaced my 8ohm technics speakers for the 6 ohm PSB. :)

Slayer,

I suggest you seriously look at the PSB Image line. I own the t45 towers up front and they are efficient enough for your Yammy to more than fill your room with clean sound. Give them an audition. You won't be dissapointed. Happy hunting/shopping.

Audition, audition, audition... I'd look at Ascend Acoustics, Axiom, PSB, Mirage, Mordaunt-Short, and Boston Acoustics. These all sound very different so it really comes down to personal taste. Ascend and Axiom sell direct. DMC Electronics has good discounts on PSB. Crutchfield often has Mirage on sale. Onecall is good for BA's. And tsto and ac4l is good for MS. I personally have MS, but they're hard speakers to drive. Although that Yammy should be able to push any of these speakers without issue.

AV123 is starting a second factoy in Cali and already has multiple shifts running on the first factory to try to catch up with the demand for the X-series speakers. The fact that they have several models and finish options doesn't make it any easier.

If you want x-series NOW, they have X-ls with several finishes on b-stock and the X-sls and X-mtm floorstanders in a couple finishes. I just ordered a Ref 100 center to compliment my Ref 1's.

those acsends are a little too much..although I may consider it i'm sure they will be way above my budget once all is said and done and they arrive at my home

here are 2 other options i'm looking at, tell me what you think:

The 740$ SCS-01(M) Speaker Package:
