Some interesting surprises as well. The little Velodyne SPL 800R had some interesting results. Im wondering why the results varied so much as well.

Yes, but if I read the charts correctly, that 800 has lots of distortion above 10%, the max used by many testers here, including Tom Nousaine. So, its response would be as expected with that 10% limit.
