I also have this same set-up,... A7N8X Deluxe and Creative Inspire5200. It works well with just the 5200,... I have also used it with a Mitsubishi/Onkyo receiver, Mitsubishi/Onkyo receiver, RBH sub, and Monitor Audio speakers,... also same set-up's but with a Sony STR-DE995, and Keenwood VR-507, and every mix and match you can think of with those receivers and speakers,... so in the end, my opinion is; if you are a gamer the 5200 with the A7N8X seems to be the best,....for music the MA's, RBH, and Kenwood seemed to be the best. I have to admit I could not hear a difference between receivers.
Now, for what you have in mind I really don't think the receiver is going to make a big difference. The Creative speakers are ok for a computer system but they are not going to come close to a quality audio set-up. So I'd recommend the receiver that fits your budget and has the features you want.
The bigger question is, are you using this for a main HT application? Or in a small enclosed 10x12 computer room. This will make a huge difference in weather or not the Creative 5200 will suit your needs.
