Good day all. I realize this is not a home entertainment question however I thought maybe someone may be able to help or provide a suggestion as to where to look for answers?
I'm expanding my wellness clinic to include AV Entrainment that incorporates (I've heard it called two things)...
  1. Tactile feedback Bass Shaker speakers and an amplifier
  2. Vibrational Speakers
1 and or 2 are mounted beneath a water bed and the vibration from the speakers is pumped out in sync with the sounds that are coming through the headphones.
The issue I'm having is narrowing down exactly what the type of speaker is and if it will work with what I'm trying to accomplish. Vague question I know I was hoping by some miracle someone may be familiar with what I'm talking about.
Thanks in advance for any info!

Tactile transducers I guess is the proper name, maybe haptics? I use a Clark Synthesis unit I mounted in my sofa. I use one channel of one of my sub amps (Crown XLS) to power it. You have what other gear now besides headphones? Butt Kicker I believe is another brand....can't think of any others off the top of my head.

Crowson is the one that comes to my mind first. Is this a soft side bed? Or a full bladder style? I think there might be some time alignment issues with exciting the water to be in sync with the headphones. Maybe not?!?! Never heard of such an exercise.

IMO, this won't work.

Water is likely going to severely dampen any vibration that would otherwise occur from the tactile transducers.

As well, most tactile transducers are very much designed for bass reproduction, not full-range audio reproduction. There ARE full range tactile transducers available to be purchased, and they can be mounted on all types of surfaces. You certainly can mount them on the waterbed just fine, but my expectation is you will have very little luck with the final result.

All tactile transducers will need a separate amplifier designed to work with them as well. So, read and do some research on things first. You will want to reach out to manufacturers if you can to see how they work with full range audio.

Currently I'm trying to replicate an audio visual entrainment (sic) bed which has wireless headphones producing specific sound frequencies, flashing led lights and the in sync vibrational bed.
Used for treatment of ptsd in military personnel and general mental health.

I have all the light/sound gear lined up but exactly what I need to produce the vibrational effect (hooks up to the light producing system) eludes me. I think it may very well be a tactile transducer as you guys have suggested.

Ever been on a waterbed that had a vibrator under the bag? It's a similar design (motor with a weight, mounted off-center) and it works pretty well. It's also a larger amount of water that's being made to vibrate.
