Hey guys, one area where I've had a hugely positive experience with "room" correction had been in my car. Alpine licensed Audyssey technology (not sure which version) and incorporated it into their IMPRINT DSP. It's configured much the same way as in a HT system, using a mic at multiple listening positions (though there is only one listening position that matters!). I've found that it does a decent job at correcting the horrible acoustic environment that is my car and offers an alternative to more drastic and expensive measures like moving the tweeters to non-traditional positions. I know other companies besides Alpine also offer digital correction, although I'm not familiar with their implementations and so won't speak to them.
