I have the Denon 4500H receiver and the audessey is grayed out after even performing the calibration process.Audessey was on for while but it totally grayed and it seems i have to perform the calibration again before i can use it.This is not the first time this has happened. This is the third time i have encountered this problem the past month.Anytime i finished the calibration and start using audyssey it grayed out after some time.I barely use the Graphic Eq and it is turned off now but Audessey is still grayed out. Thanks in advance for the help

Did you accidentally selected direct mode or pure direct mode? If you have done everything right, then do a factory reset and see if that fixes it.

Resetting factory settings AVR-X4500H (denon.com)

As Peng mentioned, did you then go into the menu and do a factory reset and did it correct your situation? You can contact Denon too and did you register the AVR on their website? Or save the sales receipt for warranty purposes.

Perhaps there will be other help here.

Using graphic eq turns Audyssey off, it is not available simultaneously.

Rereading your post again you already know somewhat about the graphic eq not being able to be used while Audyssey is on, sorry.

If you turn off graphic eq you cannot even change it to use Audyssey settings at all anymore? Is it just the Audyssey options in the audio setup settings? If you go to Audyssey setup in speaker setup you can't access that either to use the restore function rather than running it again?
