Auditioning subs...buying my very first sub

I was wondering if there are any risks of shipping subs cross country (Destination India)? Any parts within the subwoofer that could get damaged?
I would get insurance of some sort for any such freight.

Also since the sub is heavy, & if the *packaged sub* is dropped from 1 or 2, or even from 3 feet what is the likely hood of damage and to what parts (I dont expect this dropping of sub to happen! Yet worst case scenario what could happen).). What part(s) within the sub are most vulnerable to damage during shipping?
It's tough to say, though presumably the most damage would go to the cabinet (finish)

But what about the servo tech. I know this is a feedback mechanism, but unsure how this is it achieved & what kinda components are used.
Rythmik's servo mechanism:

Direct Servo uses a very thin sensing coil which is wound adjacent to the voice coil. The coil acts as a custom made microphone which creates a signal which is then used to correct any difference from the original signal. Any non linearities are instantly corrected.
In the US, shipping is probably handled with care.
:D

I doubt it. Most manufacturers doubt it too, and pack their products aggressively.

Same risk, but probably more of it. Nothing is happening while the box is sitting there in a truck... it happens while it's being handled by people. Shipping overseas will involve a lot more person time. But, still, these things are generally custom-packed rather aggressively, and are very tough in their own right.

hello

I currently own the fv-12, i can tell you that the sub will knock your socks off. It took a while to break in though. It came doulbe boxed and in a decent amount of packing foam, i doubt it would get damaged in transit. I highly recommend this sub. FYI i also own ascend acoustic sierra 1s and the sub blends seamlesly.
