I got a catalog in the mail a couple weeks ago with a $3,500 power cord. I think I recall remarking that, as scams go, this isn't like cheating disabled old people out of their social security checks, but it's like cheating people who can afford, and are naive enough, to dump 3.5K on a f**kin wire out of 3.5K. I could do that AND sleep at night.
It still requires that you make yourself dishonest.

Audio woo is merely a symptom of a larger problem. Critical thinking is not valued by our society. Making a buck is.

Using that clever story as a tool for analysis, consider the wire vendor / uninformed wire buyer transaction. It probably falls in the H1 or B1 sectors, thus it's not all bad, just not the ideal, mutually beneficial transaction. It get's money circulating, which is a good thing. One party clearly benefits more than the other, but the buyer entered into the transaction of his own volition. Caveat emptor.
