im looking for an inexpensive preamp, mainly to be able to switch sources, but i dont want it to sound like crap. So after looking around i found an audiosource preamp ($200) that looked o.k. but i dont know how it really is.
AudioSource Pre One/A
the other preamp that i liked was this NAD one. obviously the NAD is going to be much higher quality, but what im looking for is something that will allow me to switch sources without audibly "coloring" the signal when the controls are flat. the NAD costs about $600.
NAD C162 Stereo Preamp
the audiosource wont cost me a whole lot, but is it worth the extra money to get the NAD? is the NAD really THAT much better than the audiosource?
