audiophiles cant tell the difference

Mind you, these were self professed audiophiles, but interesting nonetheless. I recently read an article on an interview with a guy who designs audio cables. He suggested 30% of the entire audio budget be devoted to cables. No thanks. Good wiring to crappy equipment still = crappy sound.

The original thread you reference being closed after five posts was probably because the "test" cited in the article was refering to an undocumented claim of a comparison made in a post here three and a half years ago.

I am a studio and live engineer and I have done tests with my fellow engineers on many sets of HI END audiophile cables, speaker, component and rca and I learned you can go buy 12g wire at home depot and make your own cables. We could not hear the difference between our cables we made and the 10,000 dollar pair of speaker cables buy a well known cable maker. Use your ears ,don't believe the hype. Good connecters are recommended though...

The way studio's kill all dynamics with loudness its no wonder these guys cant hear any changes.
