Audioholics Review on Polk or Klipsch

Does anyone feel this way or is it just me  How come audioholics does not have a recent review of any of the polk or klipsch products . I have a polk system at home, the new TSI 500 which is replacement for monitor 70 and think it is pretty awesome :D sounding and I have friends who have the new klipsch reference systems and swear by them.

When I went on the hunt for a new system...it was very hard for me to procure some of the brands that are suggested on audioholics, the one thing that I did follow based on audioholics advice  was the HSU subwoofer, and it is great. In the end i went on a listening spree with what i could get and that was mostly Polks, klipshces and thankfully I got to listen to my friends Paradigms which were a class apart and of course beyond my wallet.

I read about the new speaker company and the infinity reviews but none of the other entry or mid level stuff from audioholics. Could someone in audioholics answer this cry and post something on the latest offerings from the either polk or klipsch.

AFAIK, they can't review what the company doesn't send them. They don't solicit products to review, the companies offer them because they want the public to read the reviews. So if a particular company doesn't send a product, they aren't going to go out and purchase it for review.

I have the monitor 70 and aqree that they do offer good value, especially on sale at newegg.

The major reason you don't see reviews from certain manufactures is because they have will not send products for a varitey of reasons.

I think Tom scares them.:)

hmm... i never thought of that. I just assumed ;) the speakers will be available by default to a big audio website like audioholics. Its sad to know that audioholics does try to acquire them but the companies are the ones that are not co-operating. Maybe as customers we can raise a flag and ask them to provide one for review...i will try to raise this question in a polk forum and see what they say.

I found some information on the polk issue. I posted my findings from this website on polk forum and the folks there pointed out that there were more reviews of polk on other websites. I guess its only a matter of time before we can get to see a review here too.

It has to do more with the companies willingness and eagerness to send us products for review than anything else. We have some reviews for Klipsch includng a THX Ultra 2 system, bookshelfs, etc. They refused to participate in our recent face off article review as did Definitive Tech and others. Many companies fear sending us product b/c they claim our reviews are too critical.

We'eve even had a large speakers company (whom I won't mention by name) insist on running an advertising campaign before they would send us products for review. We accepted only b/c we've had experience with their products in the past and knew they were a legit company. After we published our reviews, they didn't continue advertising which is fine b/c my whole goal with them was simply to get products for review. Mission accomplished :)

Polk for some reason haven't made much effort to work with us on any level despite we never wrote any bad comments about them. Their forum crowd seems to hate this site so I'd suggest NOT posting about Audioholics over there. I used to own a pair of Monitor 5jr+ and loved them prior to starting this website over 10 years ago.

I think many of the Polkies hate this site for exactly the reason you stated - people around here are very critical and expect a bit more. Polk doesn't make too many speakers that I really like these days, but I did review one of the RTiA bookshelf speakers here last year and I was quite happy with it.

I think my Polk Audio RT7 (acquired in 1996 for just under 600 dollars including tax) speakers are very good. I've not felt the need to replace them in nearly 13 years. I've heard numerous other speakers in that time frame (Klipsch, Infinity, JBL, Cerwin Vega, Pioneer and Yamaha come to mind and other Polks Lsi7 and 9 included and the various floorstanders offered by Polk Audio). I've always been impressed with the RT7. They do make very good speakers IMO. The only brand that has really wowed me enough to consider replacing them is the ERM speakers that Emotiva makes. The 6.2 is great.
