Optima DLP projector

I'd be very interested in a comparison review of the new optima HD72 and the latest LCD projectors (Panny AE900U and Sanyo Z4). With the prices dropping on these high quality 720P models, it should bring the real big screen theater experience to the masses.

I'm reviewing the Sanyo Z4 now, have already reviewed the PT-AE900U, and we are scheduled for the new Optoma HD72 as well...

In addition Audioholics will be doing a couple of shootouts this year so stay tuned. For now, however, it's not too hard to spot a good deal when you see one.

It would be nice to see the Mitsubishi HC3000 compared against the HD72...I think the HC3000 and HD72 are going to be each other's biggest competitors next to LCDs. The Infocus IN76 doesn't look too impressive sadly.

I had a chance to play with an H-72 today and will be reviewing this projector very soon. All I can say from the brief time I played with it is the projector absolutely rocks. The H-72 has everything you would look for in a HT projector minus mechanical lens shift.

For the price the H-72 is selling for It’s a no brainier. You should be jumping off the fence and planning your HT around this PJ if your budget is about $2000.
We will be reviewing this projector very soon.

The H-72 is in a different price class than the Mitsubishi HC3000
But I seriously doubt it is in a different performance class

Thanks for the heads up, Ray. Without the lenshift, does that not mean that using say a 96" or so screen size with a little less than 8' ceiling ht would be prohibitive with this pj? From what I have read, the screen would have to be really close to the floor. Please post as I am in the market for a pj and was considering this one along with the Panny 9000 and the Sony 51a, both of which are more expensive.
