The 10" has a very small amplifier in it. I don't know about the 12" The amplifier is only 55 watts RMS, maybe.
It has a puny power supply, I have seen bigger amplifiers in sub $30 PC speaker systems from Altec Lansing.
There upper models are better, and they sound good. I was only refering to my pathetic 10 synergy sub.
