Audio store in the house

My room looks like an Audio store right now. Still doing a lot of A-B testing between the two towers. The RBH will most likely end up in the other room with my HT set up. Great set of speakers in the house and the Primaluna HP amp is making them sing.

I still can NOT decide between the two to be honest. The mids and highs are better on the Ascend. What I love so much about the RBH is I don NOT have to use a sub. I am loving both. Right now for critical listening or when I want to sit down and focus on the music I am using the SS set up with Ascends. For all other listening I am using the Tube amp with RBH... If I had to choose on one set with a gun to my head it would be the Primaluna with RBH. The Primaluna is OUTSTANDING and I would put it up against any other product for quality playback.. And to think I almost sold it right after I had it for a short time. What a mistake that would have been.

If I was making a choice I would take the RBH over the Ascends if I was looking at both to purchase.

Thanks. Since I use my setup for both H/T and music, I don't mind using a sub. Your thoughts are what I suspected. Of all the speakers I demo'd, they would have a hard time producing better mids and highs than the towers. Have you run a tube amp on the Ascends? If so, did it make a difference and what was the difference?

Yes. I have run the Primaluna with the Ascends and it does make a deference.. Low end is increased as well as the overall sound stage.. From all my post it appears that I love the Primaluna. I do..

I'm already considering a dedicated two channel system for music only. I don't know why, I don't even have my H/T system done yet. I was considering going to tubes with 2ch system. Not sure yet which speakers I will run. I know I don't want subs on my 2ch system though. One pair of towers, maybe Revels with McIntosh tubes. Kind of a long way down the road though.

I'm in the same camp. HT room not really finished, haven't even bought the replacement amplifier for my PB13-Ultra, and now I'm looking for a 2 channel outdoor rig. I have my "reference" 2 channel system complete, but everywhere I look I want!!!! ;-) I guess that's the beauty of this hobby.
