Denon AVR-1705
LG LDA-530 DVD/CD/VCD/MP3/JPEG/WMA/Your Kitchen Sink
First off, I didn't know where to put this, so if someone wants to move it, go ahead.
Yesterday I hooked my audio system back up, because we were going to hook up my receiver upstairs, but ended up not doing that.
It's hooked up specifically, because of the speakers I have outside of my room (aka "what should be 'Zone 2'" but I don't have zone 2 on my AVR.)
DVD analog audio ==> CD Input
DVD Coaxial ===> DVD Coaxial
Tape Out ===> Outside speaker outputs
Now, anyways, on with the problem.
I was listening to a Queen DVD I got for Christmas in DTS 5.1 96/24. I was noticing very frequent audio dropouts with the disc, which annoyed me quite a bit but I didn't think much of it. Next up, I had put in a Muse CD (either Absolution, or Black Holes & Revelations. Both are completely unscratched) and noticed the same thing. This was both on the DVD input. I tried the CD input and had not noticed anything out of the ordinary (that I can recall, anyways.) This morning, I was listening to Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton (again, another unscratched brand new disc) in Dolby PLII Cinema and noticed that:
1. The speakers would cut out, not completely, but drop in volume.
2. An odd clicking noise.
As a side note, the Emily disc was being played from the CD input. I scanned back on the disc to make sure it wasn't the CD itself. Nope. I tried playing it in STEREO for about 20 seconds (I had left my room after that to get ready to go to my cabin, and post this.) and didn't notice anything.
So, is it my AVR or my DVD transport?
I did not have any of these issues when before I had unhooked my receiver. Just after I re set it up post-christmas day.
Thanks,
Travis.
