Hi,
I'm new here and hoping someone can help me and not much of an audiofile/technical. I tried searching to see if this has been answered but couldn't find anything. I apologize in advance if this is a repeat question.
I have an Onkyo TX-SR707 receiver and recently bought a new Samsung TV (UN55ES6100F). I have everything set up with HDMI so when I use the Onkyo remote, it turns on my TV, cable box and receiver at the same time. The problem is that lately when I power on, everything turns on and video works perfectly but there's no audio. I will have to turn everything off then on again several times for the receiver to pick up the audio - sometimes it takes 7-8 tries before it kicks in. If I'm lucky, I can just power off the receiver only and power it on again and it works on the first try. When the audio finally turns on, it's fine and don't have any further issues with the audio while it's on.
The set up is the same as with my old TV (Sony Aquos that was about 5 yrs old), which didn't have any problems - same HDMI cable...just basically disconnected from the old TV and reconnected to the new Samsung.
Any suggestions or ideas to fix this will be greatly appreciated. It's happening pretty much every time I power on so it's quite annoying and frustrating!
