Audio Delay Feature

Does any one know if the audio delay feature on recent AV receivers from Denon, Yamaha, H/K and possibly others works on both digital and analog audio inputs? I remember seeing a post on the AVS forum about the new Denons where the author stated that the audio delay feature only works on digital audio inputs.

My issue is that I get video delay on a Samsung DLP set only when using a Tivo Series 2 with s-video and analog stereo outputs.

The delay is used to synch the audio & video. Sometimes the time it takes video scalers & deinterlacers to process video data will cause the image to lag behind the sound. The delay setting can compensate for this.

Thank you for the clear explanation of audio delay. My key question is does audio delay work on all audio inputs into the receiver, analog as well as digital, on receivers with this feature.

Does anyone know. Can any one who ownes one help with the answer.
