Audessy XT32 Not Hearing A Speaker

Hi.

I set up my Denon AVR-X3800h as a 5.1.4. Great AVR - all 9 speakers and sub make for an awesome listening experience.

In order to improve my setup, I purchased the Audessy XT32 phone app. It connected with the Denon, and sent a request to the SUB to start rumbling, allowing me to adjust the volume. Worked great.

Then the App had the Denon send a tone from the Front Left Tower. I could hear it clearly. However, the App said it could not. I re-tryed several times to no avail. I cancelled the App and started it again with the same results.

I know all my speaks are working just fine. I know the Denon mic is connected properly as it heard the Sub. The App requests a tone from the Font Left Tower that I can clearly hear, but it can't.

So what gives ?

Thanks,
M...

I don't understand why you are using a phone app. So use the Denon to do the calibration. If that works then you downloaded bad software to your phone.

Which app are you using? The Audyssey MultEQ Editor app? You're using it to run the microphone/setup routine rather than doing that in the avr (and then manipulating with the app)?

Hi and thanks for the super quick response.

I'm using the Audessy XT32 Android APP because I was told (forum) that it has more features than the Audessy XT32 built in App in the Denon. I was willing to pay for the extra features, like setting a 500hz curtain.

I will try the Android App again later today - maybe there is a way I can raise the Denon volume. If it fails, I will try the built in App.

I will keep you posted. Thanks again for your help.

Yes, the MultEQ Editor App (what it's called) has more flexibility in setup than the Audyssey routine built into the avr (like setting a schroeder limit). You can run the routine in the avr and have the app manipulate it, too.

Not sure what you mean about raising volume....that's what the volume control is for, not something this app does. If you really want to tweak then the Audyssey MultEQ-X app (10x the cost tho).
