Obviously there is ebay and audiogon - what other auction or owner-to-owner sites are out there?

Thanks-

yup - those are the only three i would trust, along with maybe one other: Audioweb http://www.audioweb.com/Ad/Default.asp
NO WAY,PLEASE DO NOT USE AUDIOWEB.

Audioweb is the biggest haven for conmen out of all the auction sites, look at the ad's with prices that are insanely low, most of the fake sellers on audioweb steal their pictures of the gear from ebay & audiogon,i cant begin to count how many times ive went to audioweb only to see pics of gear in MY living room & listening room advertised from some yoyo claiming the gear as his own.

I have reported these scams to the administrators of audioweb countless times & not once have they taken the time to even respond to my concerns,if a conman can pay for the ad on aweb they will never remove the listing even if a seller can prove that they own the gear & are willing to send the serial numbers.

Do a google search on audioweb & fraud to see just how rampant the scams are on that site, stay away from aweb.

 Wow - I had no idea. I have always just browsed and heard about it discussed in other forums in a positive (or at least netural) way. If what you say is even slightly true, it's not worth the risk imho - the internet can be a big, bad place as I'm sure we all know.
