I have a home theater room measuring 15' wide X 22' X 8' high. I have a 7.2.4 Atmos setup. My ceiling speakers are about 45 degree angle from the setting position. So a pair of speakers are about 4 feet behind me and a pair about 4 feet in front of me. I installed these per Dolby spec. In an Audioholics YouTube video Gene talked about the best is to have the ceiling about 9-10' high. So I wonder if one pair of the Dolby atmos speakers, probably the back pair should be closer to the setting position? I think the system sounds ok but wonder if the atmos sound could be better if a pair of speakers are closer to the setting area. What's your experience?

I'm confused by what you're saying, but I think it's best to stick to the Dolby placement guidelines for the most part. I have an 8' ceiling and have my 5.1.2 speakers set at 80 degrees with no issues.

yepimonfire, with your setting position your speakers are almost overhead at 80 degrees. With speakers directly overhead that is what I consider 90 degree placement. Putting my speakers 4 feet from my setting position makes about a 45 degree angle from my head to the speakers. 8' high ceilings is the minimum height for Atmos. Dolby spec for 2 ceiling speakers is to have them overhead as some of your Blog suggests. I have read some of your Blog, nice job.
