Atmos 5.1.2 or 7.1

The height speakers on my Atmos 5.1.2 configuration must be 4 feet behind the rear surround speakers. Will that affect the Atmos experience or should I leave it as a 7.1 ?

No. That won’t work. For .2 Atmos they need to be above or slightly in front.
Personally I’d rather do 5.x.2 than 7.1. But if the only place for the heights is behind the LP then I’d skip it. No other options?
