Hey guys this surround sound is for a very small space.(Bedroom) 12" x 11"

I would mostly be using it for console gmaes connected through fiber optic. But I also want good movies and music quality.(mainly music)

With all the experience around here just wondering which one I should go with. The main onk hts770 speakers look great for music but just becasue it has one more woofer over the athenas does not always make them better for music.

What would you guys do? I know Im going with the 502/520 but I just need help picking the speakers. Thanks.

(I work at Circuit City and I get a 57% discount on Infinity and Polk but I dont think the rm6900 from polk or the Infinity tss450 really compare. Do you?)

it might be worth looking at the point five system

http://ww2.onecall.com/PID_21573.htm

and a seperate sub like this one

http://ww2.onecall.com/PID_26740.htm

or the Dayton 10 inch sub from parts express for about the same price

to get a much better sound quality than the cubes for about the same money. The crossover for the Micra 6 will be above 120, and that's putting alot of pressure on your sub to carry it. If you go with the point 5 system, the crossover will be more along the normal THX setting of 80.

the point 5 system uses smaller bookshelves rather than true cube, but it still won't take up a lot of space. :)

My family owns the older Polk Rm6700 system because I used to work at CCity. With the discount, I think you'd be hard pressed to beat the polk system, especially if you can buy it without the sub and purchase a separate one (from velodyne @ ccity or preferably HSU, SVS, Rocket...).

The infinity i cant comment on, having never heard it. but, with the discount, the polk's will be tough competition in terms of value.

Remember you can always take them home and try them. most ccity's have terrible listening rooms. i found our polks sounded much better once we got them home.

Also, if you do decide between athena and onkyo, i'd certainly go with athena.

I can't comment on the Athena or the Polk systems, although I like both company's full size speakers. I can attest to the fact that for music, the Onkyo will leave much to be desired over time. For games and movies it's adequate, for music, I suggest you find a place to audition it and compare it with other options.

what about axiom>? I have heard great things from them. I have recently decided to just spend more money and get a better system.

He's getting a 57% discount, why would he go with Axiom?

What's your budget? That's a killer discount. I'd buy the most expensive, best sounding receiver they offer. I like HK over Onkyo, otherwise, I'd recommend the Onkyo 901. That is a small room - 1ft by 1ft. I think you meant feet. What do you think of the Polk system below?

I am going with the HK AVR335 or up so that looks fine.

The speakers however I am not happy with. I hate how music sounds on them. Movies sound fantastic though.

Only problem is I will be using it for mostly games and music. A few movies a month though.

I work at Circuit City and we were slow so I spent about 5 hours Listening to jsut about every speaker we have on the Avr 635. I was disappointed with almost everything. :(

I love the reciever so I know I am going with that but I just need to pick out speakers.

I really thought that the little Infinity TSS750 set sounded better than the Polk RM6900. But still not anything I want to spend $450. Im so confused as to what to do now.

You just have to compromise a bit then. There has to be a speaker out there that has your name on it.

Also, listening to a speaker in the store is completely different than what it sounds like in the home. Maybe take the best one you can afford out of the best ones you heard, bring it home and try it there.

Currently running the Micra's with Onk 601, here's my thoughts:

Room 10x15 approx.

Sub sounds best between 9-7.5 volume.
Need to crank Onk volume way up to produce big movie sound, however, it sounds pretty clean.
Overall I like my system a lot. Wanted a cheap, effective system for the bedroom to watch American Idol type TV shows and yet play music occasionaly. Really like this setup. By the way the Xbox without digital out (only composite), sounds really good on this setup. It makes me tense when I play Halo2 at about 31-40 volume on the Onk.

Thumbs up. Curious what it would sound like with a Velo 12" replacing the Micra sub???
