I purchased a 5 speaker set of the Athena LS speakers. I just had the LS-300s and 100s delivered this week. The center will be here Monday. I have to say, these are the best "under $500" speakers I have heard. I have owned everything to compare to: Klipsch Reference, KG series, Infinity, Paradigm, Snell, JBL, BA, Polk, etc. I currently have a new set of JBL "L" series in the living room.
I just sold off some Polk R50s. I hated these speakers. I still have some R150s and a Polk CS350 center(very nice center). I think the R series is junk though-no comparison to the Athenas. I love the look and build of the Athena's. The 300s are a little boomy right now. I have them pulled a foot from the wall as they are rear ported. That little 6" woofer puts out the base. The tweeter is excellent-very detailed. Some may feel it is bright. I like it. These are not quite as smooth as the JBL "L" series but better than the Venue series. I am anxious to get the center channel.
