Athena AS-R1.2 Q's

I might be getting a pair of Athena AS-R1.2's and I was wondering if you guys knew if they are any good? and if so where I could look to get some other pieces of the set, they come from the Athena Audition 2 Series and I really haven't seen much about them.

Don't post the same thing in multiple subforums.

Anyway, those are bipole surround speakers. Are they any good? No idea. Try them and find out. It's not necessary to have the surrounds match the mains (although it doesn't hurt, either).

You'd have to look on ebay/audiogon/locally/forums online for other speakers from that line. They've been discontinued for a long time.

They are still new in the box from a friend and i really don't have a home setup, do you think they would be worth not opening to try to sell them?

If you don't already have a receiver and front speakers, then yeah, you can't use em at home...but odds are good you won't get much from selling them either. Put em on ebay if you want I guess or maybe see if somebody here in this athena owner's thread is interested:
