the epos are nice, the 683's are eh' to me... I was there when they a b'd the 683's against a pair of kef q900's {not positive on that number, it was the q tower with 4 - 8" drivers} and the Kef's sounded so much more alive, better bass, cleaner mids, clearer highs, it beat them in all categories...

I haven't heard KEFs in person, but I admit the same sort of conclusions A-B ing the B&Ws and Epos. I preferred the sound of Epos as they seemed a bit richer sounding with more presence to my ears. On first blush anyway.

As an update to my earlier posts, I have replaced my speakers with a pair of Epos Elan 30's. Really enjoying these speakers. A touch smaller than the Focals, but seem to have a smoother presentation, which is what I prefer. They look rather nice, but most importantly they sound much closer to what I was looking for. They are, to my ears, a different sound than Focal, but fits well in my room. They don't plumb to seismic depths, but I wouldn't expect that of a two channel system, but the balance of highs and lows fit better so it isn't as much of an issue in my room as the result is a fuller sound overall. Also, the first speakers I have ever owned that have real wood veneers. ha. It's a shame there isn't more hifi reviews on this particular speaker, but I guess on the other hand there wasn't a lot of influence on my final decision to demo these.

The Cambridge 650A seems to do them justice at 4 ohms, but I have read the Creek Evo 2's are a great match with this brand. May look to that integrated in the future.
