Fifty thousand bucks? Jeez, don't scare the guy off! :p

I do agree. Money is a factor. When it comes to speakers it matters how much you're willing to spend. I think you reach a point of diminishing returns pretty fast tho and I'd say 50k well exceeds it, lol.

I've only seen the 50k speakers that the Audioholics' dudes have. Requires 1.2 gigawatts to run them. Hey, we can all dream.

Projector it will be!

Went to a local audio/video specialty store and watched a JVC 4k on a 123" screen. Freaking amazing.
Haven't decided on a model yet. Saving that until I figure out what I want to do about audio.

Distance from the screen....I sat at about 12' today and would guess that's about what I would do at home. That would be off of center. An issue?

The floors are concrete covered with carpet. The walls are drywall. They need an acoustical covering?

Where is content on actually having Atmos, Auro, DTS:X etc?

Receiver? A friend is trying to steer me to Yamaha because it can be repaired locally. Is potentially using 4 subs going to affect that?

Brand of speaker? Is one better than others? I know it seems to me that in the smaller Bose stuff seems to be better. I have an affection for Klispch because I am a Hope, AR native. The birthplace of Klispch speakers. Mix and match the brand depending on which speaker?
Local Best Buy?

A lot of places (like Amazon) are selling the Denon X4300 for $799 (reg is $1500). Best Buy will price match this.

I recommend you get it price matched ASAP.

Some decisions have been made......

A friend loaned me a 70" Vizio 4k television. I hung it on the wall.

I want to build the audio first. Projector last.
Dolby Atmos and Klispch.
Klispch website has an Atmos page. I'm confused on what I would need.

Would a Denon AVR-X4300H IN-Command receiver be what I would need to build around?
What I noticed about it is that it upscales the video. Some 4K projectors won't accept a 1080 feed.

There is basically one Atmos speaker from Klipsch though it is bought as a pair or in the tower speakers. I shop on Sound Distributors for my speakers and it's a whole lot cheaper than Best Buy.
My advice is to focus on some great Lt & Rt mains, a great center channel, two 12+ subs, and surround speakers...then worry about Atmos.

Start at the base and work up from there. The Denon mentioned will be a good choice. It will do more than you need. Don't use it's processing to upscale anything, rather run the signal straight through. The Visio is an all around safe TV. If you go the way of a projector make sure you get a good one. They ain't cheap. Then you have to mount it and get a good screen. With out knowing your budget it's a bit harder to make suggestions.

Reminder: for me sound is 50% of the experience. Keep posting and let us know where your at. ✌
