What about the Tannoy Precision 8D?
Without sufficient credible 3rd party measurement analysis of this speaker, or my own measurement/analysis to verify baseline characteristics, I can not recommend it for the application as discussed in this thread.

Note: If the original poster is at all handy with the most basic DIY stuff - it may be feasible to put together a pre-fabricated system and make some structural modifications during assembly to effect a low resonance cabinet system. For example, some of these kits have pre-finished cabinets with baffles that mount to the front during assembly. You just screw/glue some of the parts together like you do with much furniture today that comes partially disassembled. You assemble some of the cabinet parts, then solder together a xover with the supplied parts and screw the drivers in. With this type of speaker with the baffle that attaches on the front during assembly, you can, with the aid of jig saw, hack saw and vice(or preferably, a cheap metal chop saw), install materials that I specify in the cabinet to essentially eliminate virtually all audible cabinet resonance. The advantage of this route as opposed to a pre-fabricated retail speaker of equivalent performance is massive cost savings.
