Nothing posted as of yet...mostly speculation right now...in antipication of its release. Post 847 at the Ascend forum help clear up some of the confusion with pricing at this time. Fwiw...the poster in this instance was Rob H or First Reflection around these parts. I'm pretty sure Dave will have more to say in the coming days BUT today is his birthday and I want to wish him( David Fabrikant) one here as well. I don't know if Macd has anything more to add...news is slowly coming out.

I am curious to hear the 2's, but I really shouldn't buy anymore bookshelf speakers, I am running out of room... I have 2 pairs of 1's {one set with the nht one with out} maybe I will sell both sets of my 1's and get a set of twos... I haven't played my ones since I got my 2013 Dentons, I haven't played my Dentons since I got my CSB1's and I really like the csb1's..

All that teeth rattling bass was bound to take its toll .

That dentist is a good salesman! At least mine is only pitching teeth cleanings and whitening products.

No need to purchase another set of speakers. You could order the upgrade kit and switch out the drive units yourself...you'd also get a small break with the cost... if you return the NrTs...but it sounds like your content...so, why go through the hassel & added expense...happy is a good thing in this hobby...IMHO.

Thanks Curtis....I'm glad Dave cleared the air on any further speculation regarding the new mid woofer being an upgrade option for the towers. I know, my gears were spinning in my head and I know some of use were getting ahead of ourselves...lol

The speculation is always good entertainment.

That's almost unheard of, that they sell upgrade kits? And only the drivers with no need to swap out the crossovers? After investing heaily recently in KEF and Focal I wish they would offer that sort of options when they launch their next generation of the current models.

Yup...I am aware that Ascend speakers aren't for everybody. However, Dave, goes through great lengths in R&D to ensure both past & current customers can benefit from any upcoming changes with drive units. I know the actual faceplate of RAAL 70-20 was re-designed with this goal in mind...others just use the off the shelf version...Dave really cares about his customers.
