Hmm, I blew up the pic, and cleaned it up.
It was still hard to tell.
So I did the thing, that I should have done first.
I checked his prior posts, so Mike is right, it should be the V661

seriously though, the 861 has a metallic looking volume control ... he could have saved 500 bucks from SRP? or he could have saved 50 bucks

The only frontal difference I see from the 2, is what Mike already stated.
The Volume knob looks to be brushed aluminum.

Heck the 861 goes for 760.00??? I would be seriously curious as to where he paid 140.00 for that AVR?

Maybe he got it as a gift? So it saved him the cost of the unit?

I'll have to look at my 661 when I get home, but for some reason I'm thinking that's not a 661. Plus mine didn't come with those stupid stickers all over it.


Edit: Just looked at the Yamaha website, and it does indeed look like the 661. So how did he save $500?!?! Mine only cost $400.

The 661 lists for $549.00 US dollars.
