I have a chance to buy a brand new still in box 2008 Pioneer Elite SC-05 7 channel AV Receiver, it has the class D ICE amps in it. I have never had a receiver with class D ICE amps, always AB amps. Does anyone have one of these receivers or have any experience with the ICE amps?

2008 is very old though so connecting and using it in a practical manner might be very difficult or impossible.

It does HDMI switching and does DD-TrueHD and DTS Master audio, no Atmos which i don't need.

The early ICE modules used by Pioneer were the state of the art 10 years ago...
But were later replaced with higher performance Class D solutions, IR produced the MOS-FETs outputs and they came out with their own Class D solution that Pioneer/Elite used after the ICE solution.
How much better was the later IR Class D solution compared to the early ICE??
It was slightly better sonically, but its major advantage was lower material $ cost by about 27%....

Just my $0.02... ;)
