If an old HTIB system (home theater in a box) they may not work well elsewhere, particularly if using a passive subwoofer or very low impedance speakers. Best to post up exactly what you've got now.

Better source of info is the operating instructions https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/W000/W0002672M.pdf

It is numerous? Don't know what you mean by that.

I assure you there are much better speakers out there. These speakers and sub are rated at a quite low 2.7 ohms and that is a difficult load for many avrs (audio video receivers), most are more comfortable with 6-8 ohm speakers, some are okay with lower impedance loads but tend to be the higher end/higher cost ones. The sub appears to be passive (most avrs do not provide for passive subwoofers, only active subwoofers....active means the sub's amp is built into the sub). I'd start all over with stand alone components, an avr, bluray player, speakers, active sub.

What's your budget?

As lovinthehd said, these speakers are meant to be used with that system and vice versa. Most standalone speakers and subwoofers can be used with most standalone AVRs, but some home-theater-in-a-box systems like this one don't work like that. 2.7 ohms is a very low resistance load for typical AVRs, especially considering these are going to be on the lower side of sensitivity. If you want something better, you need to start over again from scratch. You will not even be able to use the speaker cables from this system as they are likely to high gauge for real speakers.

2.7 Ohm speaker are likely to kill any new AVR you buy in short order.
Unfortunately, your most economical option is to avoid using those speakers!
If you want to give us your budget, we can direct you to some good options.
