I know very little. It was based upon the Audioholics review done around 9 months ago.
I see this from that article:

We want to remind our readers that you should NOT set an AVR’s impedance switch to 4 ohms regardless of speaker impedance used. I’ll also point you to Gene DellaSala’s video below and his measurements of the Marantz SR8012 (Gene tested this on a 15A line instead of 20A so the actual output should be another 10% higher or so in reality). Note how that receiver handled 4-ohm speakers well. The Denon will perform even better with its larger power supply.

Some pro equipment needs a UPS, because they make a nasty pop after a power lose.
I didn't test it with my power sequencer, I may be wrong but I doubt that a pop would occur when using one instead of a UPS.

A power up, power down sequence is on thing, a quick power loss is another. My DBX active crossover pops on short losses.

I experienced that pop problem when I was using a Sony TA-3200F as an external power amp on my HT system. I sold it and I'm now using QSC Digital Cinema series amps and I no longer have to worry about that kind of nasty noise occurring again. :)
