I finally got my speakers installed in my new house. The installers did a great job, although they were a little slow. But they lined them up all perfectly and everything looks great.
The sound quality is awesome. I'm used to Paradigms (2 monitors for fronts, a big center and 2 dipole rears) and these sound almost as good. Really. I set up my Paradigms myself and these speakers were professionally installed and set up with the proper equipment (sonic distance and all that) so that's likely part of the difference.
But I can crank these speakers up and they really deliver. The sound is really unbelievable. It's outstanding as far as I'm concerned. I'm not an audiophile like most of you guys but I do have discerning tastes when it comes to quality sound. And I can tell you—these speakers kick some butt.
The highs are just that. Crisp and clear. The vocals are extremely accurate and realistic. The Paradigm 10" sub provides the necessary low end.
These speakers have features typically only found on higher-end speakers. You can aim the tweeters. There are separate bass / treble controls on the speakers themselves. According to my installer, "You did well for yourself. I expected to see a couple cheap drivers for the price you paid but these look well-designed. These crossovers look huge. Maybe we should try to rep for Aperion." The installers were quite impressed. (They mentioned they might be able to install for Aperion because Aperion is based in this area.)
Anyway, the final word comes down to the sound. It fills up my great room and kitchen with crisp, clear, accurate sound. It's unreal. I can really push them and they don't sound like they're working at all.
$150 per pair. I looked at B&W's, Paradigms, RBH's, etc. which were all at least double the cost and didn't even have the same features. I'm glad I made the choice I did. I saved a lot and didn't sacrifice any quality.
I know I'm sounding like a sales rep for Aperion but I'm telling you—these speakers, for the price, can't be beat.
